Interactive Notebook p. 68.  Rewrite the "Revision Police" paragraph, this time replacing the positive connotative words with negative ones.  Color and decorate!

Please practice your grade level's ELA SBAC test.  Go to the following site:

 

sbac.portal.airast.org and follow the links for the practice and training tests.  This will help familiarize and prepare you for state testing that starts when we return from Spring Break.  

I.N. p. 66 on positive/negative connotations.  Also make sure all of the questions up through #16 on page 60 are completed.  You will be turning in notebooks tomorrow and I will be checking both pages.  You do NOT need to color or decorate either page right now.

Questions 11-16 of The House on Hound Hill.  Answer on p. 60 of I.N., attaching a new sheet of paper when necessary.  

Final draft summary for The House on Hound Hill chapters 1-9 needs to be submitted to me through Google Classroom tomorrow by 7 PM.

1.  Explanatory Essay on Creation myths must be "turned in" through Google Classroom by Wed, 2/25.

 

2.  Quiz on Academic Vocabulary on Friday, 2/27.  Study page 49 of I.N. (emphasis, essential, expertise, identity, including, indicate).  Make sure you know NOT ONLY these words, but also "family" words, plurals, and tenses.

Rough draft of explanatory/informational essay on the creation myths is due tomorrow.  Complete the rough draft on p. 54 of I.N., attaching more pages to the bottom if you run out of room.  

p. 46 of I.N.  Rewrite the revised paragraph we completed on p. 47 in class.  Color and decorate. You will be turning in your I.N. tomorrow so I can check pages 44 and 46. 

Interactive Notebook p. 44.  Follow the directions you wrote on the top of your notebook page.  Due tomorrow!

All 3 sections of p. 42 of I.N. need to be completed and COLORED/DECORATED.  Due tomorrow.

Your Outsider character biopoem needs to be submitted through Google Classroom by 7 pm tomorrow.  Please remember to follow the directions for the assignment!

Choose 10 of the character traits from the list you glued on p. 39 of I.N.  Use them in sentences either related to The Outsiders or Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out on left side p. 38 of I.N.  COLOR AND DECORATE WHEN FINISHED

Winter Break homework due TODAY by 4 pm!  Either packet or submit online through Google Docs.

Answer final high-level thinking question on page 28 of your Interactive Notebook.  Color and Decorate the page.  SHOW CREATIVITY! 

Answer questions you glued on p. 37 in COMPLETE sentences on page 36 of your interactive notebook.  COLOR AND DECORATE when finished.  

Interactive Notebooks will be due FRIDAY.  Make sure your notebooks are organized, neat, and left pages are completed, colorful, decorative, and CREATIVE.  

Answer level 5 "Penthouse" question about The Outsiders chapters 1 & 2 in your I.N. p. 28. Must be answered fully, in a complete sentence with textual evidence to support your response!

On page 26 (left side) of I.N. create at least 6 COLLOQUIALISMS used in present day and include their meanings.  Color and DECORATE the page. Use your notes on colloquialisms from p. 27 to help you.

Left side of I.N. p. 24.  Show in A CREATIVE WAY that you understand the vocabulary for The Outsiders.  You may NOT do illustrations because that is what you did on the right side page!

1.  First two paragraphs of proposal essay on page 22 of your I.N.  Use page 23 as a reference so you know what needs to be in each of the first two paragraphs!  We are going to work on paragraph 3 (counterargument) tomorrow together.  Make sure you have your I.N. and RC with you.

 

2.  If you still owe me a grade report signed for Parent Conferences, it MUST be turned in by tomorrow.  After tomorrow you have a 0 for PC grade!

If I did not meet your parent last night at conferences and you took your Quarter 1 grade report home today, get it signed and return it to me so that you can earn a B for your PC grade.  If it does not get returned signed by parent, you will have earned an F for PC grade.  

1.  Google assignment (that I extended from last week because of our school's connectivity issues) is due by 5 PM TODAY.  Stay after school with me if you need to finish!

Online Storyboard project for The Monsters are Due on Maple Street MUST BE EMAILED TO ME ([email protected]) BY 4 pm tomorrow!  Remember this project must follow the following guidelines:
-Each cell must be labeled with the appropriate element of plot

-Each cell must contain dialogue (you have the link to the play in classroom if you need refreshers on what the characters in the play were saying during key plot elements)

-Each cell must be an accurate representation of the appropriate element of plot (you cannot make random actions/events!)

-Must show creativity, time, and effort.

 

 

Finish the questions on p. 685 that you started in class.  Due tomorrow.

2.  Sign into Gmail with your erusd account and go to classroom.google.  There you will see your score for your last academic vocabulary assignment as well as an assignment about Higher Level Questions.  Open that document and look at the table.  Think about one question in each level that you would want to answer.  We'll be starting a document in class on Thursday related to your choices.

-TWO level 4 questions

-TWO level 5 questions

-TWO level 6 questions 

about the "Post-It Note" informational text we read and text coded in class today.  Use the question stems from page 6 of your notebook to help you!  When finished, design, decorate, and color the page.  Be creative and show neat and prideful work!
Have you questions ready for a class discussion tomorrow.

1.  Create 6 leveled questions for the short story we read in class today, "Spaghetti".  Use the Bloom's Question Starters you received today in class.  Be prepared to share those questions tomorrow!

 

2.  Continue working on the Google Document for Academic Vocabulary.  Must be turned in through Google Classroom by Wednesday, 3:30 PM.
