1. Watch π the video βοΈ first! The video lesson explains the structure of a biopoem AND shows you a sample I did step-by-step. Do not go rogue; this kind of poem follows a very specific outline!
2. Open the Biopoem outline sample πand and document πand split your screen with both βοΈso you do not have to keep switching tabs or going back and forth.
3. Choose your Outsiders character to create your own biopoem. Lines 5-8 need specifics (so don't just list their feelings, fears, accomplishments, and experiences but actually DESCRIBE them--watch my sample video again if you need to).
4. Putting an image of what you think the character you chose might look like underneath line 10 of your poem will get you some bonus points ππ°
This is βοΈof βοΈ assignments this week for ELA. Do not procrastinate and let it pile up! I cannot wait to see π which characters you choose!

EQ: How did Ponyboy and Darrel's relationship change from the beginning of the novel until now at the end of Chapter 11? Give specific examples in your response about their interactions at the beginning of the book versus now.
1. Watch the short screencastify first--it explains in detail the directions for this assignment.
2. Choose to do the Flipgrid to answer the EQ OR answer it here--DO NOT DO BOTH.
3. Flipgrid responses will earn a maximum of 30 points; answering the EQ in GC will have a maximum of 20 (so 10 points extra if you make the Flipgrid video response instead). Should the link below not work, go to Flipgrid and enter the code: pardee2760
4. Either your response in GC OR the Flipgrid (whichever you choose to do) counts as your attendance today ONCE YOU SUBMIT.
**Google Meet today from 2-2:30. I will post the link right before it goes live.**

We are close to being finished with the novel (only 3 chapters left :o). I want you to spend the next few days trying a very special One-Pager called "A to Z". It requires a lot of critical thinking but it can also be really fun and creative! Here is what you will do:
1. For each letter of the alphabet, find ONE word that begins with that letter (you can research sites online or use a dictionary). HERE IS THE CRITICAL THINKING PART: the word HAS to be related to The Outsiders in some way. For example in the letter A it would be APPROPRIATE to use the word angry, but an INAPPROPRIATE choice would be apple, because that cannot be tied into the book at all. You ARE allowed to use character names or places to represent the letters that correspond with those names/places.
2. You will use that word you chose for each letter in a sentence about The Outsiders. APPROPRIATE: Darry was angry that Ponyboy missed his curfew. INAPPROPRIATE: Pony eats an apple.
Is this starting to make sense? BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!
3. The last thing you will do is find a picture related in some way to the sentence you wrote (so for my sentence I might find an image of an angry man).
Please please please PUHHHHLEASE look at the sample ones I did for you on the document. I did the really super hard letters for you because I miss you all :) Email me with any questions. I cannot wait to see your finished products!

Last week I asked you to read Chapter 9 in the novel (the PDF is posted in Classroom if you do not have your own copy). Now I'd like you to answer some questions about events in the chapter. Remember to answer in complete sentences.
Due:
Here we are at the final practice! After this one you will have tried ALL 6! Language and Vocabulary, Editing, Brief Writes, Informational Text, Research, and Literary Text. Try your best, read everything carefully, and use the highlighting feature in Docs to select your answer.
Due:
Hopefully you had an opportunity to read Chapter 8 since it was assigned last week (if not, you still have time and the PDF is still in GC feed). Now I'd like you to answer some questions about events in the chapter. Remember to answer in complete sentences for full credit.
Due:
Even though we're not in school together right now, I'd still like you practicing for CAASPP! Use the highlighting tool in Google Docs to select your answers.
Due:
Please finish reading Chapter 7 of the novel (either from your own copy or with this PDF I've attached) and then complete and submit this assignment. DUE BY TUESDAY, 3/17.
Due:
You will be researching some topics that show up in the novel we'll be starting in a few weeks. Please make sure you complete both pages. The first one has been done for you.
Due:
I've already changed the font style, size, and spacing to meet MLA standards. You will still need to center the title and then change the alignment back to left side.
Due:
Please use the source in your notebook to complete these SSS paragraphs. The SAYs are done for you, but you will need to complete the SHOW and SO for each one. Make sure to use a sentence stem before each SHOW and SO.
