School Site Council Meeting #3, 12/9/21 @ 4pm

We will be holding our third School Site Council Meeting of the year on Thursday, 12/9/2021 at 4pm via Zoom. The schedule can be found on our website under the "Parents" tab, then "School Site Council." We will be going over the revised SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement), as well as other documents. While only SSC members can vote, all are welcome to attend. Meeting info can be found on the STEAM Activities calendar and the link is included in the title.

Halloween Costumes

Jaguars, Halloween activities at STEAM Academy will take place on Friday, 10/29 ONLY. Students will be allowed to wear costumes on 10/29 ONLY. As a reminder, the school dress code does apply. Costumes should be appropriate for the season. In years past we have noticed costumes to be excessively revealing and inappropriate for the environment and/or age. Social and Emotional Learning through Second Step

Please read the attached letter regarding the upcoming SEL lessons we will be delivering to our students in the coming weeks using the Second Step curriculum. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the office or email the principal at lyannarell@erusd.org.

Student Wellness Screening Opt-Out form

In an effort to promote the health and well being of students at STEAM Academy @ Burke, students will be periodically provided with questionnaires, surveys, and screeners that address issues related to mental health and well-being. The information gained will support the district’s ability to provide comprehensive and timely support for your child if they require any assistance. Students and parents/guardians may opt-out of filling out any questionnaire, survey, or screener that they are not interested in taking by filling out the following form:

Back to School Night

Back to School Night is Thursday, 9/2, starting at 5pm. Each grade level will have a group presentation via Zoom webinar with a Google Form to ask questions live. Please see the attached graphic for links. Each session will be recorded for viewing at a later date and posted to the appropriate grade level Parent Resource Document on our webpage. UPDATE: A few spots left! Deadline extended!

We are pleased to announce that the STEAM Academy @ Burke is accepting admissions applications for the 2021-22 school year. The applications deadline has been extended. The application can be found on the STEAM Academy’s website home page and under the student tab. Please remember that only those students who live outside of the school’s boundaries need to submit an application.

End of the Year textbook drop off and 8th grade pickup

Attention Jaguars! All students must turn in their textbooks (and band instruments), and possibly pick up a Student of the Month award. ALL 8TH GRADERS NEED TO PICK UP THEIR promotion packets, including promotion certificates, medals, recognitions, and awards. Please see the attached schedule for your grade level time and day.
